Wklejam dwa posty z anglojęzycznej grupy dyskusyjnej, z którymi się absolutnie zgadzam i uważam, że świetnie podsumowują to, jak obecnie wyglądają rekrutacje w IT. Macie podobne przemyślenia?

We need to keep talking about this until we come up with some good solutions. I'm seeing too many developers quitting our industry and suffering from depression and self worth issues. In my opinion the technical interview process is doing a lot more harm than good to everyone. Many of us, even those of us in FAANG companies feel stuck because of the technical interview. What hasn't been really mentioned is how much the interview has changed. I've been in the industry for 15 years and at my current role for 8 years. The worst I've been asked in an interview is to print a string backwards. Now I'm interviewing again and all I can say is I'm just shocked at what is required now. Leetcode and other sites have completely changed the game along with companies copying the FAANG interview process. I don't have any answers, but I would love to see technical interviews relate more to what the job will be like instead of some stressful competition of puzzles.

I am a software engineer with over 40 years of experience. I have been fluent in more than 20 languages. I built from scratch C compilers for unique CPU architectures, created my own languages for specific use cases. I've freelanced for a years but wanted to try getting into a software-only development job, not as a manager, but as a 'coder'. I just don't want to have to manage people anymore, just do what I love -- writing software. With all that knowledge, experience, and all those languages... and guess what? I have been rejected for jobs as a coder in languages I've used for decades...! The current HR system is broken.
